Our Mission
At FirePoint Forestry, we believe that enabling fire mitigation at the homeowner level empowers communities to create a safer, healthier, and more resilient environment.
Our mission is to mobilize communities toward a shared mission of protecting lives, property, and the environment from the devastating effects of wildfire. We are dedicated to removing historic barriers to implementation such as cost, planning resources, homeowner education, and contractor availability through transparent fire mitigation services, collaboration, and inclusive discussion.

How We Started
Scott began his career in forestry in Southwest Colorado with the Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs (DOI-BIA), State of Colorado Fire Protection Districts and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). He served in emergency-response services and fire suppression as a Wildland Hotshot and Helicopter Rappeler with the U.S. Forest Service and in tree-related industries serving wildland urban interface (WUI) communities for more than a decade. Scott drives community engagement through in-person assessment and innovative, out-of-the-box idea creation with community partners, stakeholders and homeowners. Scott received his B.A from the University of Colorado (CU) at Boulder in Economics and Business. He is a candidate for a Master’s in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) certificate from CU Denver and has led mitigation teams in some of the harshest and most demanding mountain environments in North America. He welcomes the challenge of applying the diverse range of his operational experience to the intricate execution of community-led, wildfire outreach and mitigation programs.
